Curating Questions for the Practice of Humanity

What is Spiritual Direction?

Spiritual Direction is about pausing to pay attention to what matters most in life, in the presence of another. It’s taking time to cultivate your relationship with the sources of life, joy, and meaning as you know them, in the presence of a human who will witness, encourage, and challenge you along the way.

Spiritual Direction is practiced in all spiritual traditions under different names and with different emphasis. If you’re interested in these different practices, my friend Gail has a great presentation on “Spirit Care”!

Having a spiritual director, spirit friend, soul friend, anam cara, Kalyāṇa-mittatā, etc. — a spiritual witness — allows me to explore, express, and dwell with what matters most in ways that I cannot do alone. The presence of another breaks habitual patterns and creates an opportunity to re-direct my attention and energy.

I would be happy to be your spiritual witness, so you can better follow the direction of what guides you.

How am I qualified? I'm a religious and spiritual professional with over 12 years of experience, soon to be completing the Spiritual Direction Certification program at Cherry Hill Seminary. If you would like to know more, here is a summary of potentially relevant experiences.

If you’re curious about engaging me as your spiritual witness in spiritual direction, please fill out this initial contact form. I will get back to you as soon as I can to schedule an online video conversation.
